FINALLY someone gets it right
Markdown is a fantastic language, but so far just about every desktop markdown editor available still adheres to the two-pane waste of space that should’ve gone out of style a long time ago.
Writed nails it — it’s the first inline markdown editor I’ve seen (that actually covers all the major formatting syntax) for Mac that gets it right.
Even if you’ve never heard of markdown, this is a fantastically simple and clean text editor. Free is insane, and even the paid features (while necessary) are cheap. I got one just to support them.
Big beef, though: Why the proprietary format? Why not save to plain text or markdown file types? Please don’t lock us into a platform or something — just let me pay a fair price for a fantastic app that plays nicely and easily with other markdown editors. (I use 1writer on my phone, which also gets inline markdown editing right, and it’d be nice if the files talked to oen another.)
